Earlier Paintings

A watercolour 11"x8" approx which I loved painting sitting on the beach,
but my figures weren't there for long!

                                                                'Gossip on the beach'

I love painting colour, movement and water and I got to do all and more in this watercolour.

The Big Little Painting Challenge, My Winning Entries!

Yesterday I had my postcard size paintings back from The Whithall gallery in Manchester.  They had been in a Non Selling exhibition of 1000 small paintings that had been chosen from I don't know how many thousands of paintings submitted into 'The Little Bip Painting Challenge' run by the BBC after the success of there television program!

                                                        King Richard lll Funeral

                                                       Look! Here Comes The King!

I was very chuffed to have been selected as 1) I don't normally paint this small and 2) I don't normally enter completions, and 3) but it is a subject I am very interested in.  I had watched the finding of King Richard lll's remains in the car park on the TV  and I was fascinated, and then I was lucky enough to watch the poor old king's funeral too!

One I made earlier! Garden sculpture

I loved making this piece of sculpture for my garden a couple of years ago, it's been battered by the elements and survived and it now looks rooted.  My blue spots complements other blue bits around the garden.

Meet 'The London Millomoni Quartet Minus One' , my small brass band who have played wonderful music for 8years throughout the seasons! Accompanied by the backing group 'Mybirds and the wind chimes' ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hope you enjoy๐Ÿ˜Ž

A blogging First

Hello and welcome to my first ever blog!

A few years ago I started painting again, first in watercolours, and now trying my hand at oil painting.

I've loved painting in watercolours for their transparency and spontaneity . A love affair with a wonderful medium.  And now oil painting has captured my heart.  My first love will never die but just move over while I try this new love out.

So, watch this space to see how it goes and I will try and post photos of past loves and new conquests!

Before I try the photo bit (I've already failed but will try again) I have managed to post photos of my art on Instagram, so check me out there.
